| Mountain Air, North Carolina July 1, 2004 This is, by far, the coolest place I've ever flown to. With a handwritten approach, and looking at the sectional,I didn't know what to expect. Pleasently surprised is an understatement. These pictures do absolutly no justice to the real view. After getting home from the flight and conducting a little research, I found out that this is the highest elevation runway east of the Rocky Mountains. To quote the Moutain Air website: "...you can fly from the runway to any destination east of the Rockies without climbing a foot." |
